Connect Stainless Braided PTFE Brake Hose & AN Hose Ends
When disassembling, first unscrew the screw and then remove the nipple. By tapping on a flat surface, slide the socket back from the end of the hose. Remove the casing with pliers and discard.
Important note: The accessory can be removed and reused at least once; however, the end of the hose should be thoroughly inspected for signs of twisting, thread damage, and collapse. A new sleeve should be used every time one end of the hose is used.
Connect Stainless Steel Braided PTFE Fuel/Oil Hose & AN Hose Ends
If you are used to using traditional red and blue hose ends with rubber-lined stainless steel braided hoses, the first thing you may notice is that the silver collar on these accessories will slide down the black body.
This is normal!
Unlike those old-fashioned hose ends, the two parts of these hose ends cannot be screwed together. In fact, they will not touch until the assembly is almost complete.
The design of the silver collar is a slightly loose fit hose. It really just gives you a final tightening step in hexadecimal. The black inner part will actually thread itself into the rigid PTFE lining as you install it. (Technically, the silver collar is also designed to hold the hose tightly to the inner part, but when you put it on the hose for the first time, it will loosen.)
Step 1
Use a cutter or a very fine hacksaw to cut the hose at right angles. In order to minimize the braided horn sound, wind the 910-type aramid braided hose with low-viscosity blue painter’s tape, or wind the 811-type stainless steel braided hose with a glass fiber strap. Do not remove the tape until you are ready to proceed to step 2.
Step 2
Remove the tape, and then quickly insert the hose into the socket. Insert the hose with a rotating motion, and feed the braided belt while rotating the hose. These easy-to-install hose ends do not require Koul tools.
Step 3
Clamp the hose fittings with a smooth or soft vise, and lubricate the threads with light oil
Step 4
When rotating the hose, push the hose firmly onto the threads. Keep turning the hose until the first three to four threads are engaged.
Step 5
Tighten the socket with a wrench. Continue to turn the socket until it reaches the bottom of the thread. Important note: When the socket reaches the bottom of the thread, continue to turn two turns.
Step 6
Clean the assembly thoroughly. Perform verification tests under two operating pressures and carefully inspect all assemblies.
